Nagpur: Union Minister Subodhkant Sahai,
today demanded immediate intervention of Jharkhand Governor as
constitutional machinery has collapsed for the last 20 days.

"It is high time the Governor should intervene since
the Shibhu Soren ministry was struggling for life in ICU for
last 20 days and the real image of BJP as an opportunist has
emerged," Sahai who was on a day`s visit here, told reporters.

The Congress leader from Jharkhand said a pack of
power hungry BJP leaders were desparate to form the government
and install its Chief Minister. They are all set to suppress
aspirations of regional parties like JMM.

The mineral rich state has gone from bad to worse
during the BJP`s rule for the last 8 years, he said.

Jharkhand when formed had a surplus budget, power and
mineral rich was on the brink of financial collapse, he said,
adding, state`s only three districts were Naxal-affected at
the time of formation but now Naxals have spread their
tentacles in 24 districts during BJP rule.

"Its mockery of democracy where BJP was indulging in
delay tactics in forming government and even after five rounds
of discussions, was unable to form the government," he said.

Sahai said the other two states carved out along with
Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Uttaranchal under the leadership of
Ajit Jogi and N D Tiwari have prepared a road map which the
successive governments are following.

On whereabouts of Soren, Sahai said neither his son
nor daughter-in-law were ready to vacate Assembly seat for
him, that is the fate of Guruji.
