Additional Sessions Judge A P raghuvanshi directed the police that in the event of Gavari`s arrest he be released on production on personal bond of Rs 30,000 with one solvent security in the like amount.
Gavari was booked for murdering one Patil from Kalwa town under section 302 of IPC among other sections and is absconding. Shiv Sena and BJP had sought Gavari`s arrest and debar him from voting at the Mayoral polls scheduled March 6.
Appearing on behalf of Gavari, advocate Hemant Sawant urged the court to grant him bail as he has to participate in elections and assured the court that he would not not indulge in any such act that will violate its orders.
The court in its order said that the applicant shall make himself available for the interrogation by the police as and when required and shall not directly or indirectly
make any inducement or threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the accusation against him so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the court or to any police officer. Gavari`s vote is crucial especially to NCP-Congress
combine in the Mayoral polls.
