Mumbai: Hours after he went missing, a
three-and-a-half-year-old boy was found murdered at Kamani
area in suburban Kurla, police said today.
The body of Rohit Singh, with a slit throat, was found
last night, they said.
According to police, Rohit, a resident of Navyug Housing
Society in Ghaswala compound, went missing around 1.30 pm
The matter came to light when a watchman found a body in
at Sunder Baug in Kamani area, noticed a gash on the boy`s
throat and informed the police, they said.
At around 2.30 pm, Rohit`s mother Ragini started
searching for her son, thinking he might be playing somewhere
in the vicinity but in vain, police said.
Later, Rohit`s father Ramesh went to Ghatkopar police
station to lodge a missing person complaint when they told him
about the body of a boy found.
Ramesh immediately rushed to Rajawadi Hospital where the
body was taken, police said adding and identified it.
"The police should arrest the accused immediately. I do
not understand why my son was killed. We have not caused harm
to anyone," said Ramesh.
So far this year, three minor girls have been raped and
killed in Kurla area, triggering fear among the residents
about minors being targeted.
