Three arrested for attacking cops in Thane

Thane: Three persons were Friday arrested for allegedly attacking two police personnel when they tried to stopped them from creating nuisance at a public place in Ulhasnagar township of the district, police said.

The accused - Narendra alias Bablya (28), Shabhu alias Kamlesh Shanilal Shirsat (30) and Rajan Gopal Toraskar (38) - were playing loud music and disrupting peace in their area on Wednesday night when the police tried to stop them, Vitthalwadi assistant police inspector A B Patil said.
The inebriated men then allegedly attacked the two constables with sticks and beer bottles, he said.

Police are also on the look out of some others involved in attacking the police personnel.

A case has been registered against the accused under sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) of the IPC.
