Two arrested with explosive material in Thane

Thane: Two persons were arrested here for
illegally possessing explosive material, that is used in
triggering blasts at construction sites, near a water
purification site in Kalyan.

The Mahatma Phule police from Kalyan said that 75 gelatin
sticks and 34 detonators were found at the Barave water
purification station of the Kalyan Dombivili Municipal
Corporation (KDMC), from where, drinking water is supplied to
the city.

Local MLA of MNS, Prakash Bhoir, who visited the site and
found the explosives at the pumping station, informed the
police about it. Later, the police arrested Rajednra M Chavan
and Arif Khan in this connection.
