Two murdered in separate incidents in Thane

Two separate cases of murder have been registered in the district since yesterday, police said on Wednesday.

been registered in the district since yesterday, police said on Wednesday.

In the first incident, two brothers -- Chaitya Wagulde
(48) and Shankar Wagulde (35), who hail from Wasarje of
Murbad, had visited their relatives at Somta yesterday. After
having their meals when Shankar asked Chaitya to leave he
refused, they said.

This annoyed Shankar, who attacked his elder brother with
a wooden log, resulting in his death. Shankar has been
arrested, police said.

In another case, a 41-year-old watchman was attacked by
some some unidentified persons at Mira Road last night.

According to police, the victim Devendra Gupta had got
into an altercation with some persons outside a tea-stall
following which one of the persons attacked him with a glass
bottle, thereby killing him.

A case has been registered and further investigation is
on, police said.
