Uday appeals for `conscience` votes

Independent candidate B G Uday today appealed to the Bihar MLAs to cast `conscience` vote in tomorrow`s poll for five Rajya Sabha seats being contested by six contestants, including LJP President Ram Vilas Paswan.

Patna: Independent candidate B G Uday today
appealed to the Bihar MLAs to cast `conscience` vote in
tomorrow`s poll for five Rajya Sabha seats being contested by
six contestants, including LJP President Ram Vilas Paswan.

The Bangalore-based businessman, who was talking to
newsmen, said he was banking on the support of all those MLAs
who had proposed his nomination in addition to several
legislators from other parties but refused to reveal their
names.

``I have put my best foot forward for electoral victory
in the Rajya Sabha polls ... I will not lose much sleep even
if the outcome goes against me,`` he said.

Uday denied charges of horse trading in getting the
support of MLAs and challenged those opposed to him to prove
it.

Quizzed on his late appearance in the electoral fray,
Uday said that he had acted on a call from his heart.

In the event of his winning the poll Uday said he would
bring in investments, particularly from foreign countries, for
industrial development of Bihar.

He lauded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former union
ministers Lalu Prasad and Ram Vilas Paswan for their service
to their home state over the years.
