Uproar in Maha Assembly over Kasab

Seeking speedy execution of 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab, Opposition Shiv Sena-BJP MLAs Tuesday created noisy scenes within and outside the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Mumbai: Seeking speedy execution of 26/11
terrorist Ajmal Kasab, Opposition Shiv Sena-BJP MLAs Tuesday created noisy scenes within and outside the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

As soon as the House began its proceedings today, the
slogan shouting opposition MLAs disrupted the Question Hour,
demanding that Kasab be hanged as soon as possible.

"Hang Kasab promptly or else those in government must
vacate their chairs," they said.

Speaker Dilip Walse Patil adjourned the House for ten minutes amid noisy scenes.

Opposition legislators also staged noisy protests
outside the Vidhan Bhawan building, seeking speedy
implementation of the court order sentencing Kasab to death.

"We fail to understand the reason for delay in hanging
the terrorist," Leader of Opposition Eknath Khadse said.
The House later took up discussion on the July 13
Mumbai serial blasts which claimed 24 lives. Starting the
debate, Khadse said that unlike the 26/11 terror attacks when
the Chief Minister and Home Minister resigned, this time, no
one has accepted the responsibility.

"The government is taking the issue very lightly," the
BJP leader said.
