Mumbai: Hitting two birds with one stone, Congress MLA from Kankavli constituency Nitesh Rane on Wednesday said that he would want to begin Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Clean India campaign from Mumbai by cleaning `all the Gujaratis who hate Marathis'.
Toeing his father Narayan Rane's line, Nitesh took to microblogging website Twitter to make such irresponsible remark.
Wanna take part in Swacha Bharat abhiyan n start from mumbai!! Wanna start cleaning up all the Marathi hating gujjus from there once for all

Senior Congressman and former chief minister (when in Shiv Sena) Narayan Rane, who had raked up the Marathis versus Gujaratis issue during the state Assembly polls, had faced embarrassing defeat from Kudal.
This is not the first time Nitesh has targetted Gujarati community. In August, Nitesh had tweeted: "The number of Gujaratis has grown significantly over the past few years. Out of the total 36 constituencies in Mumbai, 13 seats are such where the Gujarati votes are deciders. At the same time, Gujaratis don't allow others to buy flats in their towers, especially those eating non-vegetarian food. This has resulted in the rise of Gujarati populace.”
"We are not against Gujaratis who want to remain in harmony, but are against those who want to take control of the city," Nitesh had added.
