Woman dies after Arjuna Awardee TTE pushes her off a moving train in Maharashtra

In a shocking incident, a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) pushed a woman off a moving train, leading to her death, near Jalgaon in Maharashtra for boarding a AC compartment with a general ticket.

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) pushed a woman off a moving train, leading to her death, near Jalgaon in Maharashtra for boarding a AC compartment with a general ticket.

Relatives of the deceased said that the woman had boarded the AC compartment only in her hurry to catch the train. The ticket checker objected to her presence in the AC coach which led to an argument, following which he allegedly pushed off the woman from the train.

Reports have identified the TTE as Bharat Salunkhe, who is a recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award for wrestling.

The victim`s family alleged that Salunkhe was reeking of alcohol. He was arrested by Jalgaon Government Railway Police (GRP).
