Mumbai: A 24-year-old pregnant woman was
allegedly kidnapped, held captive for several hours and robbed
of jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh by unidentified persons here,
police said on Saturday.

The victim claimed she had stepped out of her home at
suburban Goregaon for some work yesterday afternoon when four
unidentified men in an Innova car abducted her, they said.

Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered at Vanrai
police station and a manhunt launched to trace the accused,
police said.

The woman lives with her in-laws. Her husband is in the
merchant navy and currently posted abroad. She got married
last year and is three months pregnant.

The four men pulled the woman into the car and
blindfolded her. They molested her and snatched gold jewellery
worth Rs two lakh, police said.

"They drove her around for several hours and dumped her
in Malwani area in the evening," said a police officer.
