Button relishes ‘greatest victory of his career` Montreal: McLaren Formula One driver Jenson Button has described his Canadian Grand Prix win as the greatest victory of his career. Button snatched a dramatic victory by overtaking Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel on the final lap after an error by the German.

“That has to be my best win. What an amazing race. I will remember this for a long time,” A magazine quoted Button, as saying. “I really do not know what to say. It’s been an emotional few hours,” he added.

Button triumphed despite crashes with teammate Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso that saw him fall back to last place at one stage. The 31-year-old further admitted that the incident with Hamilton was his mistake and “just one of those things”.

“We both agreed it was a racing incident. I had to fight my way through about three times. I was last at one point. Then on that last lap Seb ran wide on a wet part of the circuit and I got him. The most important lap to be leading is the last one and I led for part of that,” Button said.

“It felt like I spent more time in the pits than in the home straights. But we called it right going on to slick tires and I really enjoyed fighting through the field,” he added.

Button also made six visits to the pits - five for tires and one drive-through penalty.
