Heavy rains have caused major traffic jams, bringing a lot of distress to the locals.

The continuous rainfall has also caused a high tide in Mumbai, submerging several low-lying areas of the city.

In Thane, a compound wall collapsed due to heavy rains. According to ANI, no one was injured but at least nine cars were damaged in the mishap.

Due to the heavy rains, suburban train services were running 10-15 minutes behind schedule. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, south Mumbai received 60.8 mm rainfall, while Santacruz recorded 77 mm rains in the past 24 hours.

Weathermen have also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours in the entire Konkan region, including Mumbai.
