In a major breakthrough, 15 naxals including a self-styled `commander`, a `deputy commander` and seven women cadres surrendered before Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil in Gadchiroli.

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, 15 naxals
including a self-styled `commander`, a `deputy commander` and
seven women cadres surrendered before Maharashtra Home

The `commander` identified as Suryu Ramesh Violla Gawde,
26, was surrendered yesterday along with other ultras during
the police parade function on the occasion of `Maharashtra
Day`, police said.

The `deputy commander` has been identified as Shekar
Duge, 26, they said.
