20 Naxals arrested in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli

About 20 Naxals including a woman have been arrested from Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, police said Monday.

Nagpur: About 20 Naxals including a woman have
been arrested from Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, police
said Monday.

The Maoists were held yesterday from Dhanora taluka of the
district acting on a tip off, they said.

As the police party proceeded towards the Naxal hideout,
the outlaws, sensing trouble, opened fire which drew immediate
retaliation from the patrol team, they said.

There were no casualities on the either side, police said.

Four indigenously made rifles and rounds were also
recovered from them, they said.

The arrested Maoists are being interrogated and will be
produced in a court later in the day for custody, police said.

The woman Naxal belongs to Militia Dalam and was allegedly
involved in Hattigota violence in 2009.
