Sabauddin Ahmed, charged with providing maps of 26/11 terror targets to Lashkar-E-Taiba, today told the trial court here that he was being falsely implicated in the case by Mumbai police.

Mumbai: Sabauddin Ahmed, charged with
providing maps of 26/11 terror targets to Lashkar-E-Taiba,
today told the trial court here that he was being falsely
implicated in the case by Mumbai police.

"I have nothing to do with 26/11 terror attacks,"
Sabauddin said, in reply to question put to him by Judge M L
Tahaliyani on evidence adduced against him.

Sabauddin alleged that he was not produced before a court
within 24 hours by Mumbai police after his arrest in this case
on December 17, 2008, thus violating his fundamental right.

However, the judge asked him to agitate before the
concerned Magistrate where he was produced for remand or
before Human Rights Commission.

Sabauddin said he had not provided maps to LeT and also
denied having met co-accused Fahim Ansari or anyone else in
Nepal.

A witness has deposed saying that in his presence Fahim
had given maps of Mumbai terror targets to Sabauddin in Nepal
for forwarding them to LeT, which carried out 26/11 attacks.

Sabauddin was arrested by UP police in a case of bomb
blast in Rampur and later his custody was taken by Mumbai
police in 26/11 case.

Lone surviving Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab and
co-accused Ansari were also present in the court when
Sabauddin gave the statement.
