Colombo: Four Indian fishermen have been arrested off the northern Jaffna peninsula for unauthorised entry into the Sri Lankan waters, police said here on Wednesday.
The fishermen were arrested yesterday off the northern Jaffna peninsula with their boats and charged with unauthorised entry to Sri Lankan waters, they said.
Sri Lanka and India share a tiny sea strip between them where fishermen frequently cross the sea limits.
Arrested fishermen and their boats have been handed over to the police for further action.
