A virtual education exhibition, organized by British Council India, is currently on for Indian students. The exhibition, called ‘Education UK Virtual Exhibition’, began on September 20 and will run till October 10 at www.edukvirtualexhibition.com .
Visitors to the virtual exhibition can access and download information about admission procedures, accommodation details, fee structures, student alumni information and courses details from the 20 participating UK institutions.
Besides this, visitors can engage in a live chat with the delegates of the participating institutions to get answers to their queries which can range from finding suitable courses to finding suitable accommodation.
Apart from this there will be subject specific webinars during the event. Some chat sessions will be conducted by student alumni giving visitors a first-hand perspective of studying in the UK.
Further, the Virtual exhibition will provide an opportunity to showcase education opportunities in the UK to interested audiences and key influencers online. It will also help provide information to a geographically dispersed audience who are considering UK as a study destination.
The participating universities include University of Abertay Dundee, Birmingham City University, University for the Creative Arts, University of Greenwich, University of Hertfordshire, Lancaster University, Leeds Metropolitan University, University of Lincoln, Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Northampton, Northumbria University (Newcastle), Queen`s University Belfast, Ravensbourne, University of Reading, University of St Andrews , School of Advanced Study, University of London, Sheffield Hallam University, Staffordshire University, University of Stirling, and University of the West of England.
British Council has so far organized three virtual exhibitions in India; the first one was held in February 2010 while the second edition was organized in May 2011.
Last year’s exhibition saw participation of 25 UK universities, and received around 2 lakh unique visitors online during a period of three weeks.
