Ghaziabad: A CBI court trying Rajesh and Nupur Talwar for the murders of their daughter Aarushi and domestic aide Hemraj on Saturday rejected the couple`s plea to send a `khukri` to a British forensic lab for another round of DNA testing.
After rejecting the petition, Additional Sessions Judge Shyam Lal fixed September 30 for the start of final arguments in case. `Khukri`, a sharp-edged weapon suspected to be used in the crime, was recovered from the room of Talwars` compounder Krishna. On September 17, a London-based DNA expert, also a defence witness in the case, had told the CBI court that it was still possible to find some DNA on the handle of `khukhri`. Andre Semikhodski had told the court that the handle has several grooves and it was possible to extract DNAs from it. "We wanted khukri to be sent to England for DNA test, but our application was rejected by the respected court," said Manoj Sisodia, counsel for the dentist couple. PTI
