Advani condoles death of former Nepal PM

Senior BJP leader L K Advani condoled the death of former Nepal Prime Minister K P Bhattarai and said the multi-faceted leader championed the cause of strong and cordial relations between the two nations.

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader L K Advani on Sunday condoled the death of former Nepal Prime Minister K P Bhattarai and said the multi-faceted leader championed the
cause of strong and cordial relations between the two nations.

"I deeply mourn the sad demise of Krishna Prasad
Bhattarai, former prime minister of Nepal, and a great
statesman championing the cause of strong and cordial
India-Nepal relations," Advani said in his message.
Bhattarai, 87, who was a journalist, had also
participated in the Quit India Movement.

A leader of the pro-democracy movement in Nepal, he was
widely respected for his pro-people approach.
"I recently met him as a leader of Nepal`s struggle for
democracy and I vividly recall his warmth and passion for
Nepal`s development and cordial relations with India," Advani
said.

Bhattarai died due to multiple organ failure in a
hospital in Kathmandu on Friday night.
