Ratlam (MP): Senior BJP leader Sushma
Swaraj on Wednesday said that L K Advani would not step down from the
post of leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, and dubbed
reports of mounting pressure on him to quit his post as a
media creation.
"Advaniji would not step down from the leader of the
opposition in Lok Sabha, and there were no talks in the party
in this regard," Swaraj told reporters here.
"It was a media creation," she said, after being asked
when she will be elevated to leader of opposition in Lok
Sabha.
About the political crisis in her party in the
Karnataka, the deputy leader of opposition in Lok Sabha said
that it had withered as BJP was having inner mechanism to sort
out such issues.
To a query, Swaraj said, that her party had taken
right decision on right time to expel Jaswant Singh from BJP,
as he had held Sardar Patel responsible for the partition.
"Every BJP worker holds Sardar Patel in high esteem
for his contribution in unificaion of India," she said.
Describing the recent unruly behaviour of Maharashtra
Navniram Sena (MNS) in the Maharahtra Assembly as "shameful
and unfortunate", she said their act to insult national
language was unpardonable.
About the civic polls in Madhya Pradesh next month,
Swaraj said that price rise of the essential commodities will
be the party's plank along with the local issues.
Fifty per cent reservation for the women in the Madhya
Pradesh's civic polls was a revolutionary step of the BJP
state government aimed to empower fair sex, she said.
