New Delhi: A day after BJP worked out details on party veteran LK Advani’s proposed yatra against corruption, the Congress on Monday termed it as “fictitious”.
“We would request the BJP to eliminate corruption in politics rather than playing politics on corruption,” said Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi speaking to reporters here.
On Sunday, BJP Core Group, in a three -hour long meeting at Advani`s residence, chalked out the details of the planned yatra.
Party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said general secretary Ananth Kumar has been made the convenor of the yatra.
BJP sources said October 2 (Mahatma Gandhi`s birth anniversary) and October 11 (Jaiprakash Narayan`s birth anniversary) were the two tentative dates being suggested for launching the yatra.
The yatra would cover 8,500 kms, party sources informed.
