‘Afzal Guru rope’ used to hang Ajmal Kasab?

New Delhi: The rope, which was used to hang Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab was meant for 2001 Parliament attack death row convict Afzal Guru, a report said on Thursday.

The rope was woven by prisoners lodged in Buxar central jail located in Bihar.

A report published in Hindustan Times today said that the rope was woven by prisoners lodged in Buxar central jail located in Bihar.

As per the report published in Hindustan Times, there was no official demand for a specific rope to hang Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Kasab. However, as the rope supplied five years back in anticipation of execution of Afzal Guru was lying unused it was used to hang the 2008 Mumbai attacks perpetrator.

Five days before the fourth anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the lone captured Kasab was executed on Wednesday morning.

Kasab was hanged till death at the Yerwada Central Prison after telling jail officials that he had no last wish. The Pakistani national was buried inside the Yerwada Jail at 9.30 am.
