Air Marshal Ganguly new IAF medical DG

Air Marshal Dipankar Ganguly, the senior-most Air Force medical officer, has taken over as the Director General Medical Services (Air).



New Delhi: Air Marshal Dipankar Ganguly, the senior-most Air Force medical officer, has taken over as the Director General Medical Services (Air).

He took over his new assignment yesterday, an IAF
press release said here Wednesday.

Air Marshal Ganguly was commissioned in the IAF on May 22, 1973. He did his MBBS from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) at Pune and specialized in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
He had been posted to prestigious medical units like Military Hospital, Cardiothoracic Centre MH (CTC) at Pune as Clinical Specialist and as Senior Advisor and Consultant at
Army Hospital (Research and Referral).

He also served as Deputy Commandant at Army Hospital (Research and Referral) and as Commandant, Command Hospital (Northern Command) and subsequently as Deputy Chief (Medical) at Integrated Defence Services (IDS) headquarters.
For his distinguished service, Air Marshal Ganguly has been awarded Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) twice by the President of India.
