Farrukhabad: All courts in the entire
country will be connected via internet in three years, a step
that will relieve police from the responsibility of presenting
undertrials in courts.

"The work to connect all courts through internet will be
completed in three years. After this, there will be no need to
present prisoners in courts (as the hearing will be done
through video-conferencing)," Union Law Minister Salman
Khurshid said.

Inaugurating a library here yesterday, he said to ensure
speedy disposal of cases, the number of Lok Adalats would be
increased and their purview would be broadened.

The government was going to launch a new programme in the
name of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to train young
lawyers, Khurshid said adding such training would be imparted
so that they could practice in High Courts and Supreme Courts.

The Law Minister said a bill to ensure that those with
criminal cases could not contest polls would also be brought.
