Anna attacking Rahul to be in the news: Congress

New Delhi: Union Minister Harish Rawat on Friday
said social activist Anna Hazare was attacking Rahul Gandhi on
the Lokpal issue as he liked being in the news.
"Sometimes, social activists also start liking to remain
involved in politics. I think Anna Hazare is also now used to
be in news and that is why he attacks Rahul Gandhi," Congress
leader and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Harish
Rawat told reporters here.

The Minister was reacting to allegations levelled by
Hazare against the Congress General Secretary for `flip-flops`
by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Lokpal.

Asked to comment on Hazare`s plans to campaign against
the Congress in the forthcoming Assembly elections in UP and
other states, Rawat said, "I think he will harm his own cause
if he campaigns in elections. Indian democracy functions as
per its own rules."
He said if Hazare campaigns in UP elections, it will hurt
only the BSP as it is in power in the state and also seen as
the symbol of corruption by the people there.

Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said the
Opposition protests which led to the adjournment of the House
today were not correct as there was only a private FIR against
External Affairs Minister S M Krishna.

Opposition demand for resignation of Krishna for his
alleged role in a mining scam led to repeated disruptions of
both the Houses of Parliament forcing their adjournment till
Monday.
