Puducherry: Minister of State for Parliamentary
Affairs V Narayanasamy on Saturday alleged that social activist Anna
Hazare was functioning under instigation of BJP at a time when
the Prime Minister was taking steps to curb corruption and the
Lokpal bill is to be tabled in the coming parliament session.
"Anna Hazare is acting under instigation of BJP, as seen by
Anna Hazare team meeting BJP leader L K Advani yesterday," he
told reporters here.
He pointed out that the UPA government, as part of efforts
to curb corruption had set up 54 special courts across the
country and planned to establish 71 more as opposed to the
situation when BJP-led NDA was in power "when nothing was done
to combat corruption."
"One can now see corruption flourishing in BJP ruled states
and hence BJP has no right to speak about corruption", he said
Referring to the increasing incidents of crimes against
women in Uttar Pradesh,he said law and order in that state was
"in shambles" and demanded that Chief Minister Mayawati spare
no effort to ensure protection of women in her state.
