Mumbai: Even as Intelligence agencies are at
odds about two ships recently drifting to the city coast, the
Coast Guard today intercepted another vessel in high water
though nothing suspicious was found, authorities said.
Around 2.50 pm, the police control room received a call
that a suspicious ship was spotted off the Madh Island
following which the Coast Guard was alerted, they said.
Coast Guard ship Varuna and a Chetak helicopter were
pressed into service which intercepted the vessel named
"Mogri" off the island around five nautical miles away from
the city coast, police said, adding the carrier was moving at
the speed of around 3-5 Knots.
The ship had nine crew members on board and was sailing
towards Goa from Vasai.
However, according to the authorities there was nothing
suspicious about the vessel which was carrying ore.
