New Delhi: Amid anger and grief in the entire country over the death of a 23-year-old Delhi gang-rape victim, there was chaos at the Jantar Mantar here on Sunday as the protestors clashed with the police personnel deployed on duty.

The flames may have died, but public anger is not going to die any time soon.

The protestors, who have been making all attempts to move towards the strategically located India Gate, also made attempts to break the police barricades.

The Delhi Police, which invoked murder charges against the six men allegedly involved in the gang-rape of the girl in a moving bus after she died in a Singapore hospital and decided to file the chargesheet in court on January 03, are making all attempts to calm down the protestors.

"We want to carry out a peaceful protest, we want to carry forward the movement. But why do police restrain us from protesting at India Gate. But we will continue to protest even if they barricade major stretches of roads and shut all metro stations... The police can't stop us from raising our voices," Praveen Pandey, a law student in Jamia Millia Islamia University, told a news agency at the protest site.

"We want speedy justice in the gang-rape case. We want strict laws, until then we will continue our protest," Deepali Sharma, a student from Amity University, Gurgaon who came to the protest along with friends, told the agency.

The protesters, including some elderly people, men and women, mourned the death of the young woman in a silent protest.

It's not going to be an easy Sunday for ordinary Delhi commuters. Police have imposed restrictive orders around India Gate and Raisina Hill - the capital's power centre - and shut down all roads leading to the areas, as well as shut down ten Metro stations in central Delhi. India Gate and its adjacent areas in the capital will remain out of bounds for public

The girl was gang-raped and brutally assaulted allegedly by six men in a moving bus in South Delhi on the night of December 16. She died on Saturday at around 2:15 am.

What India needs is to break free from the shackles of its corrupt government which is the root cause of most of the issues. There needs to be change but that doesn`t mean giving more power to an already corrupt state or police. What we need is economic development and less state intervention is every aspect of put life which has  incentivised corruption to date. “Any scheme or plan which depends on the police is bound to fail. What we need is a vigilant citizenry.” as said by the professor of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies Madhu Purnima Kishwar. http://libertarianhome.co.uk/2012/12/the-delhi-gang-rape/

what i am feeling right now all politicians know that public is the only for collecting vote and like a toilet paper. they are not going to do anything to give justice that girl and they won`t listen our pain, they won`t see our tears. they are moving on same track ( THODE TIME MEIN SAB BHUL JAENGE )because if they wanted to set an example then till now all those six were killed by the parents of that girl in the front of nation. if this happened then we could see the smile on all those faces whose have been thrashed by cruel worst and crap peoples.

why are we fighting the cops. They are not culprits its the CHALTA hai non responsible system WE all of US created . THE girl died and we are asking for strict laws , speedy trials , this and that .That will not solve anything if we must do something to protect our pride we must take responsibility and demand for for the jury system to decide for the SENTENCES of these there is no word for this kind of crime . we all must stop shedding the responsibility and demand with all might not speedy trials not stricter laws but for US to be part of this system to decide for the trial schedules , dates , names of responsible culprits and punish them with our conciuos not by law . Laws are for criminals not these animals even calling them animals is insult to animals there is simply no word for these people n the act they did .

The Top VIps have asked the police to put up barrcated and to pevent ``protesters``along the VIP routes where their homes are located so that they can sleep peacefully. The authorities and the Ministers have seen so many rapes taking place in India and so they thought this incident will also die down soon. They all shed croc tears now.People will notice that so far no action has been taken on Police nor on any official for the lathi charge carried out on innocent crowd. that includes even journalists. This is the aboslute power that blinds the authorities.

The Indian woman needs justice . Its not about one girl its about the millions across the country. Atrocities against women should be taken seriously by the government. Sarkaar bohat so li , now they need to take action . The moment the public sees the government take steps to change their approach in dealing with such cases with severe punishments. The public will feel appeased . WE WANT JUSTICE and NOT FALSE PROMISES . .

The way the government handled this cas, airlifting the rape victim to Singapore and now cremating hastily creates doubts in our mind. The government is trying to hide some facts.
