Antony to visit Saudi Arabia

Antony would be going to Saudi Arabia two years after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh`s visit to that country.

New Delhi: A wide range of issues including
global terror will come up for discussion when Defence
Minister AK Antony undertakes a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia
from Monday.

During the visit the Minister would discuss issues
pertaining to bilateral relations with the two nations
including global terror and anti-piracy efforts by Indian Navy
in the Gulf of Aden, Defence Ministry officials said here
today.

Antony would be going to Saudi Arabia two years after
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh`s visit to that country during
which he signed 10 important agreements, including a defence
pact.

The two countries have already signed a counter terrorism
cooperation agreement and during Antony`s visit, both sides
are likely to discuss issues related to financing of
Pakistan-based terrorist groups.

During the visit, India is also expected to raise the
issue of anti-piracy efforts in the Gulf of Aden and ways to
of deal with the threat.
