New Delhi: India is satisfied with the prompt action taken by the British authorities against the culprits involved in the murder of Indian student Anuj Bidve in Manchester.

Official sources here said the issue figured when British High Commissioner designate to India James Bevan met Union Home Secretary R K Singh here today.

Bevan informed Singh that so far five arrests have been made in connection with the incident and every effort was being made to take the case into its logical conclusion.

The High Commission has already granted visas to parents of Anuj to visit London and steps are being taken to bring his body to India.

"We are satisfied with the steps being taken by British authorities in the entire case," a source said.

Bidve (23) was shot in the head in Salford on Boxing Day in an unprovoked incident. He was shot at point-blank range as he walked with friends near their hotel in the inner-city Ordsall district of Greater Manchester in the early hours of December 26.
