Arjun Singh`s autobiography to be out by January

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Arjun Singh, who broke a long silence on the Bhopal gas tragedy with a statement in Parliament, is likely to come clean on a number of issues soon.

Singh`s autobiography "A Grain of Sand in the Hourglass of Time" is expected to be out by January next.

Sidelined in the UPA-II, he said that the book was being brought out by an American publisher and was likely to be released in the new year.

Singh, in his statement in the Rajya Sabha last week, obliquely pointed fingers at the late P V Narasimha Rao for the exit of former Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson after Bhopal gas disaster in 1984, thereby giving a clean chit to the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
"The Chief Secretary informed me that there have been persistent calls for granting bail to Mr Anderson from Home Ministry officials in Delhi," said Singh, who was then the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, pointing fingers at Rao, who was then the Union Home Minister.

BJP has attacked Singh for putting the blame for allowing Anderson to leave India "on people who are dead".
