Army, BSF greet Pak officers on I-Day

Army and BSF personnel greeted their Pakistani counterparts on their nation`s Independence Day today and exchanged sweets along the border in Jammu and Kashmir.

Day today and exchanged sweets along the border in Jammu and
Kashmir.

Led by Colonel Christopher, Indian Army team met
Pakistani Army officers, who were led by Col Omar Gul, at
Chakan-Da-Bagh Border Post along LoC in Poonch district and
congratulated them.
The army officers of both countries shared sweets and
fruits and hugged each other at the flag meeting.

The meeting lasted for nearly half an hour after which
the gates were again closed at Chakan-Da-Bagh.

Meanwhile, BSF officers met Pak Chinab Rangers at a
border outpost along international border in R S Pura
sub-sector in Jammu district and congratulated them on
Pakistan`s Independence Day.
They gifted to Pakistani officers sweets and fruits at
the flag meeting on the zero line.

Later, speaking to reporters, Commandant BSF L N Dubay
hoped that peace and tranquillity will prevail along the
border.

"The borderline is peaceful. Security situation is
better. Both the sides are coordinating with each other," he
said.
