Jodhpur: Indian Army's One Medium Regiment
on Saturday celebrated its platinum jubilee here and carried out a
mounted parade of artillery guns in the country.
Congratulating the unit on the occasion, Army Chief
General Deepak Kapoor said the regiment's achievements in
different wars fought by India were exemplary and urged the
troops to maintain high standards.
The highlights of the parade, which was led by the
regiment's Commanding Officer Colonel P C Pawar, include the
BMP infantry combat vehicles and M-46 130 mm artillery guns of
the unit.
South-western Army Commander Lieutenant General C K S
Sabu and 12 Corps Chief Lt Gen A M Verma were also present on
the occasion.
Established in 1935, the regiment took part in World War-
II and had received its battle honours while fighting against
Japanese troops in Burma.
