Arrest warrant issued against Telugu scriptwriter

A local court on Friday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against screenwriter and Telugu movie director K V Vijayendra Prasad, father of noted film director S S Rajamouli, in connection with a cheque bounce case.

Visakhapatnam: A local court on Friday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against screenwriter and Telugu movie director K V Vijayendra Prasad, father of noted film director S S Rajamouli, in connection with a cheque bounce case.
Additional Judicial Magistrate First Class at Elamanchili today issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Prasad. The cheque bounce case had been filed by YSR Congress Party leader and film producer Chengala Venkata Rao after two cheques of total amount of Rs 60 lakh got bounced.
Chengala Venkata Rao had given Rs 60 lakh to Vijayendra Prasad a few years back to write a movie script. However, Vijayendra Prasad did not complete the work. When Venkata Rao
demanded his money back, Prasad gave him two cheques of Rs 30 lakh each around a year back. Both the cheques got bounced, police said.
The court has issued warrant against Prasad for his continuous non-appearance before the court. It had issued notices three times to Prasad in the last few months.
