Mumbai: Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday visited Lalu Prasad Yadav in a hospital here, a day after the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief underwent a marathon six-hour-15-minute-long surgery to treat his heart condition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders had yesterday wished Lalu Prasad a speedy recovery.
Lalu Prasad's condition is said to be fine.
The senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader was accompanied by AHI chief and renowned heart surgeon Ramakanta Panda, hospital medical director Vijay D'Silva and other senior officials.
Many RJD activists from Bihar and a stream of political visitors also continued to come to the hospital to enquire about his health.
Doctors performed three procedures on the RJD chief - for an aortic valve replacement, an aortic repair and repairing a 3mm hole in the heart.
Lalu Prasad is now in the intensive cardiac care unit of the Asian Heart Institute at the Bandra Kurla Complex and is likely to be discharged within 10-12 days.
