Batch of 3,025 pilgrims leave Jammu for Amarnath

A batch of 3,025 pilgrims early on Tuesday left the Jammu base camp for the 13,500-feet high cave shrine of Amarnath amid tight security.



Jammu: A batch of 3,025 pilgrims early on Tuesday left the Jammu base camp for the 13,500-feet high cave shrine of Amarnath amid tight security.
Escorted by the CRPF jawans, the pilgrims, including 677 women and 88 children, left in a cavalcade of 97 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 0500 hours for Amarnath, police said.
With today`s batch, as many as 43,099 pilgrims have left Jammu in 13 batches for their onward journey to the cave shrine.
