Bhushan to file contempt case against Amar Singh

Prashant Bhushan said he will file a contempt of court case against Amar Singh and police officials in connection with the controversial CD.

New Delhi: Lawyer Prashant Bhushan on Friday said
he will file a contempt of court case against Amar Singh and
police officials in connection with the controversial CD
purportedly featuring his father and prominent jurist Shanti
Bhushan.

As Delhi Police filed a closure report in court claiming
the CD was genuine negating the Bhushans` claim that it was
doctored, Bhushan alleged the conclusions were arrived under
pressure from political bosses.

"Police say Amar Singh has told them that he established
contact between Shanti Bhushan and Mulayam Singh Yadav. He
has confessed and it is a self confession. If he had accepted
that there was a conversation about fixing judges, then he has
committed contempt of court," Prashant Bhushan said.

He said he would demand an investigation by an
independent agency into the CD purportedly having
conversations between Shanti Bhushan and political leaders
Amar Singh and Yadav.

The controversial CD containing purported conversations
between noted lawyer Shanti Bhushan and political leaders
Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh "is not not doctored or
tampered with", the Delhi police had told a court.
