New Delhi: A bill to check corruption in judiciary will soon be introduced in Parliament, Law Minister M Veerappa Moily told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

He said the Judges Standard and Accountability Bill will be brought before the Cabinet and moved in Parliament soon.

Moily was responding to a private members' resolution on the confrontation between the legislature and the judiciary.

He said the judiciary has responded to the wishes of the House with some judges declaring their assets voluntarily.

"We had brought a Bill for the declaration of assets. It had its own effect. They (judges) responded to the wishes of the House (by declaring assets). The object has been met. We commend the judiciary for this," Moily said.

The Law Minister also stressed the need for preventing abuse of Public Interest Litigations saying precious time of the court should not be wasted on "frivolous and bogus" PILs.

Moily said it was Law Day today as the Constitution was inked on November 26, 1949.
