Thrissur (Kerala): A bill to change the name
of Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) to
Cost and Management Institute of India would soon be
introduced in Parliament, ICWAI President G N Venkataraman
said here on Friday.
He told reporters here that the minister concerned has
given an assurance in this regard.
He said the name change would eliminate the disadvantage
faced by Indian professional accountants, who despite being
cost and management accountants, are treated as 'works'
accountants abroad.
Earlier, he inaugurated the two-day All-Kerala Cost
Convention, attended by nearly 300 delegates.
