New Delhi: BJP on Saturday announced its
candidates for assembly bypolls in Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya
Pradesh and Delhi.
The Central Election Committe of the party chaired by
BJP President Rajnath Singh this evening announced the names
of the candidates.
Praduman Rajput and Mohd Irfan Ahmed are the party
candidates for Dwarka and Okhla assembly bypolls in Delhi.
Bypolls to the Okhla and Dwarka assembly seats in
Delhi were necessitated after sitting MLAs Pervez Hashmi
(Congress) was sent to Rajya Sabha and Mahabal Mishra (also
Congress) won the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
Rajput had contested the last assembly elections from
the same seat. Ahmed is a known Muslim face of BJP's Delhi
unit.
The other candidates announced by the party are
Sanjay Paswan from Warisnagar, Abhay Singh from Ramgarh and
Brij Kishore Bind from Chainpur-- all in Bihar.
From Gujarat, Vashrambhai Harjibhai Khorani has been
fielded from Chotila, Jaysukhbhai Thesiya from Dhoraji,
Natvarsinh Oghadbhai Vala from Kodinar, Kalyansinh Deharasinh
Chauhan from Dehgam and Bhavsinh Dahyasinh Rathod from Sami.
In Madhya Pradesh assembly bypoll, BJP has fielded
Sovran Jatav Master from Gohad.
