Panaji: BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi`s rally in Goa on January 12 is expected to witness a huge turnout of over one and a half lakh people, BJP Goa leader Laxmikant Parsekar said on Thursday.

Parsekar told reporters here that more than one lakh people have registered by paying Rs 5 as a fee for the rally.

"With two days left, there is demand for 80,000 more receipts which are circulated through 1,500 booths in all the 40 constituencies," Parsekar said.

The rally would be held at Merces village near Panaji in the run up to the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

"We will win this semi final," he said adding that the attendance for the rally would be `historic`.

Some years back, we had a public rally with record presence of 50,000 people which was attended by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This time we will break our own record, Parsekar said.

The BJP leader said that coalition partners from Parrikar-led government are also invited for the rally.

"Leaders from the political parties like Maharastrawadi Gomantak party will also be sitting on the dais," he added.
