Saharanpur: A five-member delegation of state BJP leaders visited violence-hit Saharanpur on Wednesday.

The `fact-finding` team met families of victims and also assessed damage caused to property.
Suresh Rana, who was allegedly involved in the Muzzafarnagar riots, was also part of the BJP delegation.

Talking to reporters, Rana said, “State government failed completely, rioting went on for hours but no action was taken.”
He also alleged that the police and district administration acted in a one sided manner and “surrendered before the rioters”.

Meanwhile, the law and order situation is slowly returning to normal in the city. Curfew was relaxed for five hours today.

"Keeping in view the peaceful situation, curfew has been relaxed for five hours today. If the situation remains stable, then we will relax curfew in the entire district from 10 am to 5 pm tomorrow," Saharanpur District Magistrate Sandhya Tiwari said.
