BJP govt`s anti-corruption drive too late: Cong

Congress said BJP`s chief minister and ministers have already swindled off funds.

Dehra Dun: Congress on Thursday took a dig at BJP
stating that the anti-corruption drive launched by Uttarakhand
government has come too late.

"The BJP government is now enacting laws like right to
public service and confiscation of benami property to
eliminate corruption after its chief minister and ministers
have already swindled off funds to the tune of crores of
rupees through various scandals.

"They should have taken such steps four years back when it
had come to power," Leader of the Opposition Harak Singh Rawat
told reporters here.

He said if the Congress is voted to power in the next
assembly elections, it would make mandatory for all MLAs to
declare their property every year as well as bring the post of
Chief Minister under the ambit of Lokayukta.
