BJP MPs meet to discuss strategy for Budget session

New Delhi: The BJP Parliamentary Party met on Sunday to chalk out its strategy for the Budget session of
Parliament on a day when the government told the Opposition
that an announcement on the constitution of a JPC into the 2G
spectrum will be made on Tuesday.
"We will attend the joint session of Parliament
(tomorrow). We will demand that on February 22 they should
announce (formation of) JPC. If announced, the House should
function properly," senior party leader SS Ahluwalia told
reporters after the meeting at BJP veteran LK Advani`s
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj,
PAC chairman Murli Manohar Joshi, BJP chief whips in both
Houses Maya Singh (Rajya Sabha) and Ramesh Bias (Lok Sabha),
were among those who attended the meeting.
Ahluwalia said during the Budget session the main
Opposition party would also raise other issues that affect the
nation like prise rise, Maoist threat, other corruption cases
like the Adarsh housing scam and Commonwealth Games scam, Army
ration scandal and the ISRO spectrum issue.
"Other matters like black money stashed in foreign banks,
CBI`s functioning, Chinese Army intrusion in certain regions
of India will also be raised," he said.
The BJP also plans to highlight the suffering of farmers
due to import-export policy of onions and plight of Tamil
fishermen being attacked by Sri Lankan Navy.
