New Delhi: Demanding an explanation from Rahul Gandhi on the allegations of corruption against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, BJP youth wing protested outside the residence of the Congress vice president on Monday.

The protest was led by BJP youth wing president and Hamirpur MP from Himachal Pradesh, Anurag Singh Thakur, among others.

Meanwhile, as per reports, water cannons was used by the police to disperse the crowd. Also several BJP workers along with Anurag Thakur were detained.

The protests by BJYM comes a day after senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley wrote to PM Manmohan Singh alleging that the HP CM had been recipient of monetary benefits for favouring a power company.

The BJP leader had also asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul to make their stand clear on corruption.

Rahul has been talking about fighting corruption lately. He also said last week that he did not agree with the Maharashtra government's decision to reject the Aadarsh Commission report which had indicted three Congress leaders, including Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde.
