Ahmedabad: BJP general secretary Ananth
Kumar today said that a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC)
should be set up to look into the misuse of CBI by
Congress-led government in the centre in non-Congress ruled
states.

"The name of CBI needs to be changed. It is no more
Central Bureau of Investigation but Congress Bureau of
Investigation," Kumar said in the Gujarat BJP`s executive
committee meeting here.

"CBI is dancing to the tunes of the Central
government. BJP won`t tolerate this and would launch
county-wide agitation against," he said.

"We are going to demand in the upcoming monsoon
session that there should be a JPC looking into the misuse of
CBI by the Congress-led UPA government in non-Congress ruled
states," Kumar added.

"Besides the price rise issue, in Gujarat, we would
also highlight the misuse of CBI by the central government in
the state," Kumar said.

CBI is presently investigating the 2005 fake encounter
of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and killing of his wife Kausar Bi.

The Central agency, which was handed over the probe
following Supreme Court order has arrested one IPS officer in
this case, while 14 other including three IPS officers were
arrested by the previous agency-- the state CID.
