BJP to hold jan panchayat to `expose` Centre`s failure

The Bharatiya Janata Party today said it will launch a mass nationwide campaign through panchayats to "expose" the failure of the Central government to check price-rise.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party today
said it will launch a mass nationwide campaign through
panchayats to "expose" the failure of the Central government
to check price-rise.

"These jan panchayats will be held between September 18
and 24. A number of farmers, women and people from all
sections of society would take part and discuss at length the
failures of the six year governance of the UPA," BJP national
Vice-President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters here.

The format of these `jan panchayats` would be the same as
that of traditional panchayats, during which the failures of
UPA government would be highlighted, he said.

Naqvi, also in-charge of central programmes and campaigns
committee of BJP, said the panchayats "would also expose the
Centre and its certain ministers` collusion with foreign
companies, and blackmarketers; as a result of which prices of
food grains, diesel, petrol, kerosene and other necessary
items are sky-rocketing".
