Kolkata: The BJP would move cut motions
against the union budget on its own though the party was not
averse to floor coordination with CPI-M or other opposition
parties in Parliament, senior BJP leader Murli Monohar Joshi
said today.
"As the principal opposition party, we will move our own
cut motions against the union budget. They (CPI-M) may move
separate cut motions," Joshi told a press conference here.
Asked whether his party would have floor coordination
with CPI-M to corner the Manmohan Singh government in the
House, Joshi said, "BJP does not believe in political
untouchability.
"But the CPI-M does not have much strength now. Those
days have gone. Anyone can come with us. SP, BSP, even the
Left stood with us to protest the fuel price hike."
Joshi said BJP would also oppose the proposed legislation
on genetically modified food for its "dangerous and harmful
clauses".
He said the UPA government was planning to move the
Biotechnological Regulatory Authority Bill in Lok Sabha any
time with the process being initiated.
