New Delhi: With the end of over three-month
economic blockade in election-bound Manipur, BJP today
announced it is sending a "goodwill team" led by senior leader
Yashwant Sinha to the state to assess the ground situation
there and reach out to people.
The team, comprising Sinha, BJP spokesperson and MP
Prakash Javadekar and party president Nitin Gadkari`s
political advisor Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, will visit parts of
Manipur to meet people and learn about their hardships as well
as the steps being taken by the government there.
The Supreme Court had recently observed that not much
attention was being paid by the government towards the
hardships faced by the north-eastern states.

(SHDDC) that their demands would be looked into.
The SHDDC is demanding conversion of Kuki-dominated
Sadar Hills area into Naga-majority Senapati district,
Union Home Minister P Chidambaram who toured
